杨凌职业技术学院是全日制专科学校，于2007年5月15日正式成立。学院位于国家级经济开发区杨凌农业高新技术产业开发区，占地面积近200亩，建筑面积3.8万平方米，总投资近2亿元人民币。学院设有19个本科专业，培养目标是培养具备一定的理论基础、良好的职业技能、实践能力和创新精神，适应21世纪农村地区农业、畜牧、林业、水利、农村经济发展的需要的中高层次农村人才。

学院目前已形成以“农、工、贸”三大学部为依托，以“农、畜牧、水利”三大学科门类为特色的办学格局。“农学部”依托国家级农业高新技术产业开发区优势，开设有作物生产、园艺工程、畜牧工程3个本科专业。“工学部”依托国家重要的军工企业——中国航天飞行控制中心集团公司在杨凌的优势，开设有飞行器制造工程、飞行器动力工程2个本科专业。“贸易部”依托国家重要的军工企业——中国航天飞行控制中心集团公司在杨凌的优势，开设有飞行器制造工程、飞行器动力工程2个本科专业。

目前，学院共有教职工210余人（含外聘教师60余人）；在校生近3000人。近年来，学院先后荣获省市多项教学成果奖；2013年12月被评选为甘肃省高水平应用技术大学。2014年6月被评选甘肃省高水平应用技术大学。2015年6月被评选甘肃省应用技术大学。2016年6月被评选甘肃省应用技术大学。2017年6月被评选甘肃省应用技术大学。2018年6月被评选甘肃省应用技术大学。

学院现有专任教师210余人，其中教授12人，副教授22人，讲师176人。外聘专家60余人，具有博士学位者10余人，硕士学位者50余人。
